Miles Cookman has been performing nationally for over ten years and has released several records. He writes all his own material and performs solo or with his Miles Cookman Band.
His songs contain an honesty and maturity that too many writers tend to overlook, nowadays. Although much of his style is influenced by the singer-songwriters of the 1970's, it is in no way dated. Relying on simple guitar and voice or with a sympathetic backing, his love of the music shines through.
Miles started out playing in folk and blues clubs while still at school. Soon, he joined his first band before stealing the rhythm section and starting out on his own. Ten years, countless bands and a million gigs later, he is still going strong. Playing good songs, telling bad jokes and always looking gorgeous.
He is based in Whitstable, on the Kent coast, where he has lived most of his life. Well known on the local music scene and with a loyal following, it's well worth catching him live.
